How to Play Minecraft for Free
Introduction
Minecraft is a very fun game but if you can't afford the $20+ it would cost you to buy the game then you won't be able to enjoy it. You may have seen some online scams that say you can play Minecraft for free but instead of letting you play the game they actually infect your computer with malware or send you to a fake site with advertisements so they can get money from you visiting it.
But, what you may not know is that there is an official browser version of Minecraft which is absolutely free and can even support multiplayer with up to 10 players. This browser version is the first original public release of Minecraft, so if you want all the modern advanced features of Minecraft you will still have to purchase the game but if you just want to be able to enjoy the basic features of the game then you will be able to. I explain how below:
How to play the browser version of Minecraft
If you want to play the free browser version, you can find it here: Minecraft Classic. When you click the link it will automatically make a world and show you a link you can use to invite up to 10 friends to join you.
What are the controls?
The default controls are: the regular WASD and space movement controls, “T” to chat, “B” to access the inventory, “F” to toggle fog, the enter key to save a location and the “R” key to load a location. You can change the controls though by pressing Escape then options then controls and clicking on the buttons and then pressing the key you wish to change it to. To break or place blocks you use left-click and you can swap between breaking and placing mode by right-clicking.
So that's it - Minecraft is accessible to everyone, if you just want to build basic structures on your own or with friends. Anything more advanced and you will have to purchase the full version of Minecraft. Enjoy!
